There is a lot you can do in Vienna in summer – but no other activity is as popular as a visit to the Heuriger. When the weather is good, enjoy the view of the vineyards, chat a little with friends and drink a few glasses of wine – that’s all you need for many. I’ll show you six wine taverns in Vienna that guarantee unforgettable summer evenings!
Mayer am Nussberg
In the midst of the Viennese vineyards you will find the Heurigen Mayer am Nussberg, which is one of the absolute classics. Here you can enjoy award-winning wines and first-class food, surrounded by a wonderfully idyllic backdrop – in summer there are also sun loungers in front of the restaurant. Be sure to try the Mayer’s Bergkäse, which is served with onion-pepper chutney!
Heuriger Sirbu
According to youremailverifier, Sirbu is one of the oldest Heurigen in Nussdorf and captivates with a phenomenal view of Vienna! They are also appreciated by many celebrities who stop by here regularly. If you take a seat on one of the bankers, you can not only enjoy the view – of course there is also our own wines and a generous buffet with delicious delicacies. Heuriger Wieninger
The Heuriger Wieninger in Stammersdorf has already received several awards and attracts with a rustic atmosphere. A special highlight is the beautiful garden, which is also perfect for a romantic date in summer. Traditional delicacies such as roast pork, house brine and schnitzel are served on the plate. To drink there are first-class award-winning wines from Wieninger and home-made syrup beverages.
Helmut Krenek at the Göbel winery
One of the most popular wine taverns in Vienna is Helmut Krenek at the Göbel winery in Stammersdorfer Kellergasse. This is also no wonder, because the studied architect Hans Peter Göbel attracts visitors with specialties from straw pork and very good red wine. The atmosphere is also very cozy and invites you to linger – the perfect address for mild summer evenings!
Walter winery
With his winery, Norbert Walter brings original Tyrolean flair to Vienna! At this beautiful Heuriger on Bisamberg you can feast your way through Tyrolean cuisine – the menu includes specialties such as Galtürer Hausspeck, East Tyrolean Henkele or Chamswürstel. Excellent wines and brandies are also served. Incidentally, the Walter winery has been certified organic since 2015.
Viticulture Zawodsky
The Zawodsky viticulture captivates with the wonderful natural garden and the great view of the city. Here you can watch the sunset in a very romantic way and sip your wonderful wine.
